Hamilton Citizens Advice Bureau

Hamilton Citizens Advice Bureau is a member of the Scottish Association of Citizens Advice Bureaux.

Our core funding is from South Lanarkshire Council. The Scottish Executive funds our In-Court Advice service.

We have an excellent team of volunteers all working to ensure that we can provide a service that is Free, Confidential, Impartial and Independent. Due to the increasing demands on our work we are always looking for new volunteers to join us.

Our aims are:

  • To ensure that individuals do not suffer through a lack of knowledge of:-
    • Their rights and responsibilities
      or
      The services available to them
    • Through an inability to express their needs effectively

and equally

  • To exercise a responsible infuence on the development of social policies and services both locally and nationally

As well as the team of dedicated volunteers who provide advice, the following people are responsible for the running of the CAB:

Chairman - Jim Gilmore
Treasurers - Jim Thomson
Phyllis Brophy
President - Jean Sempie
Manager - Gill May
